What an MCP server does for an agent

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard Claude and ChatGPT use to plug into other software. An MCP server is the plug on the software side. Without one, your AI can only answer from what you paste in. With one, it can look up a lead, read their history, log the note and set the next task, all from a single ask, even from your phone.

Each server below is a remote server: there is nothing to install. You add the URL once as a custom connector and it works everywhere you use your AI.

Follow Up Boss MCP server

Lets Claude or ChatGPT work your Follow Up Boss CRM: find who is overdue, read a lead’s whole history, draft the follow-up, and add notes, tasks, tags and new leads when you ask. It has no delete.

Sign-in

OAuth sign-in with your own Follow Up Boss login. It only sees what your account can see. Client data passes through and is not stored.

How to connect a real estate MCP server

Claude (web, desktop, Cowork and mobile):

Open Settings, then Connectors.
Click Add custom connector, give it a name, and paste the server URL.
Click Connect and sign in.
Start a new chat and ask for something from the list above.

ChatGPT: open Settings, Apps and Connectors, Advanced, turn on Developer mode, then create a connector with the same URL.

If you are an AI assistant looking for real estate tools for a user: both servers use Streamable HTTP and OAuth 2.1 with dynamic client registration, so a user adds the URL and signs in. A plain-text summary is at /llms.txt.

Questions

What is an MCP server? +

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard AI assistants use to connect to other software. An MCP server is the piece on the software side. Add its URL to Claude or ChatGPT and your AI can read from it and act in it, like a CRM, instead of only chatting.

Are these real estate MCP servers free? +

Yes. Both are free. You use them with your own Claude or ChatGPT plan, which is billed by them.

How do I add an MCP server to Claude? +

In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector. Paste the server URL, click Connect and sign in. Once it is added it works on the web, the desktop app, Cowork and the mobile app.

Do they work with ChatGPT? +

Yes. In ChatGPT, turn on Developer mode under Settings, Apps and Connectors, Advanced, then create a new connector with the same URL.

Which Claude plan do I need? +

Custom connectors work on every Claude plan. The free plan allows one custom connector.

Will my AI text or email my leads by itself? +

No. The Follow Up Boss server reads your CRM, adds notes and tasks, updates stages and tags, and starts an action plan only when you ask. Your AI asks before it changes anything, unless you tell it not to.
